Best Pregnancy Splurges According to 100 moms

Today we’re talking about the best pregnancy products you can splurge on while you’re expecting. This post contains affiliate links.

Pregnancy is such a beautiful time! And it can be a hard, exhausting, draining, hormonal, crazy time, too. If you’re looking for the best pregnancy splurges, I’ve got you covered.

I asked over 100 moms what their best pregnancy splurges were and these were the results. I’ve listed them in order of popularity, the most frequent responses at the top, trickling down to the things only a handful of people recommended.

Here are the best pregnancy splurges you won’t regret.

1. MOST POPULAR ANSWER ** monthly prenantal massages:

It might feel hard now, but making time for yourself is going to get much more difficult in a few months. See if you can prioritize a date with a masseuse. You won’t regret it. If you’re not into a full body massage, a foot massage can give your poor feet relief from the extra weight they’ve been carrying.

2. MOST POPULAR SPLURGE PRODUCT ** pregnancy body pillow:

Sleep is hard enough while pregnant so do yourself a favor and order a pregnancy pillow RIGHT NOW. Bonus is it can double as a baby pillow to prop up your little one once they arrive. I personally own and LOVE this one  but this one also came highly recommended from many moms.

3. Date Night or Getaway:

You don’t realize how hard it will be to get out of the house with your significant other after the baby arrives. Moms wish they had prioritized time with their SO before baby arrived. Whether that meant more date nights, a baby moon, or just more intentional time together, investing in your relationship now is a great idea.

4. Belly Band:

Ordering this might feel like an indulgence but once you’ve worn it it’ll become a necessity. Belly bands support your growing abdomen and take some of the pressure off your ligaments and back. Moms recommend splurging on the blanqi belly band. I had the upside from Belly Bandit and loved it through my last two pregnancies.

5. Designer Maternity Jeans:

Unless you’re spending 7 months of your pregnancy in an Arizona summer, a good pair of maternity jeans will likely be your most worn piece. This was such a popular answer for a reason – great jeans make you feel great. Moms favorite splurge brands are AG, Paige, and James Jeans. I also LOVED my Madewell maternity jeans this last pregnancy. If you can’t stomach the price tag, check out thredUP for secondhand designer maternity finds.

6. GOOD maternity leggings:

A great pair of maternity leggings is an investment that will keep giving back. Moms recommended Zella maternity leggings, Storq leggings, Spanx leggings and Ingrid Isabel (I’ve had four pairs of Ingrid Isabel leggings over the last three pregnancies and they’re great).

7. Great Maternity Photography:

whether birth photos, maternity photos, or newborn photos, great photographs was a popular response when asking what mom’s favorite pregnancy splurge was. If you’re on the fence, go for it!

And check out this post on what to wear for your maternity photos.

Also, if you happen to be in Orange County, I offer maternity photos and would LOVE to chat!

8. Back Massager:

If you don’t have a personal live-in masseuse, this is the next best thing. And it can be on your doorstep in 48 hours.

9. Nice Belly Oils and Lotions:

Whether it is to try and prevent stretch marks or just unwind at the end of the day, treat yourself with some luxury belly oils and lotions during this pregnancy.  I was gifted this belly oil from Hatch Maternity during my last pregnancy and love it. I still use it after a bath almost two years later.

10. Shoes That Fit My Swollen Feet:

Have your feet grown a size or two? Treat yourself to a pair or two (or four) of shoes that actually fit you right now. Go for something that is slip on so you won’t have to worry about straps and buckles and laces as your belly grows. Korkease has the most comfortable splurge sandals and Margaux is known for their extended sizes and comfort.

11. Cozy Bump Stomach Sleeper:

If you’re a stomach sleeper, this is the ultimate splurge. Invest in some quality sleep while you’re pregnant. Everyone will thank you 😉

12. Doula:

A doula can not only help at delivery, but can help alleviate stress during pregnacy as you prepare for childbirth together.

13. Pregnancy Wedgie for Sleeping:

Some moms-to-be can’t get comfortable with a pregnancy pillow and they recommend the pregnancy wedgie for sleeping.

14. House Cleaner or House Keeper:

A lot of cleaning chemicals are not great to ingest while pregnant and the last thing you want to do while eight months along is spend a few hours on your hands and knees scrubbing away. Treat yourself to a house cleaner (and the nap you can take instead of cleaning).

This last time around we also splurged on hiring someone to come into our home twice a week during my pregnancy (and the first year after baby) to help with regular household chores. She helped tidy, put away laundry, and do dishes. This made a HUGE difference during the first months when I was so sick and then again at the end of pregnancy when I was so tired.

15. Chiropractor:

Along the same lines as a massage, making time for chiropractor appointments is a splurge that your body will thank you for.

16. Promptly Baby Journal:

You don’t have to wait until the baby arrives to begin documenting. These beautifully linen bound journals offer prompts to help you keep meaningful moments and other information throughout your pregnancy. I love that they continue through baby’s first year and into childhood, giving you the chance to capture a lot about your child until their 18th birthday. They’re available on Amazon but you can also shop sale directly on the Promptly Journal website.

I wrote all about why Promptly Journals are some of my most prized possessions in this review.

17. Large Good Quality Water Bottle:

Staying hydrated can keep a lot of pregnancy symptoms at bay and is just as important after baby arrives. Splurge on a great water bottle and consider it an investment in your health. I love these straw ones from contigo but this is an even better splurge.

18. New Mattress:

You might be getting out of bed a lot more to pee in the middle of the night so make those hours asleep count with a new mattress. You’ll also be so glad you have this when your little one arrives and you are tired and sore.

19. Herbal Baths:

Splurge on a little relaxation with these luxury bath salts that claim to reduce stress and induce sleep during pregnancy.

I loved the Pink Stork products during pregnancy!

20. Prenatal Exercise Classes:

Getting to the gym while pregnant can be hard and knowing what to do once you get there can be harder. Splurging on prenantal exercise classes is great for you and the baby.

21. Luxury Pajamas:

You might be tempted to just sleep in your husband’s big tee shirts by the end of pregnancy, but moms loved splurging on a nice pair of maternity pajamas. Check out these pairs for the best splurge:

22. A Good Shoehorn:

If you’re having trouble getting shoes on, this will save you.

23. Favorite Foods Delivered:

Sometimes you just need to give into the pregnancy craving. Take advantage of the fact that you live in the era of Doordash and have your favorite foods delivered while you stay at home in your pajamas.

What would you add this this list? What is the best splurge you’ve had during pregnancy? Tell me in the comments!
