Mini Shop Cider Clothing Review: The Beige Trousers
When I placed my first order on Cider Clothing a few months ago we were starting to see a lot more of this trouser trend. I wasn’t certain they were a daily staple for me (life with four kids) and I didn’t want to splurge on a more expensive pair when my body is still changing quite a bit (post partum life).
But, Cider had a few different options for wide leg trousers. And the price point was under $30.
I’ve styled and worn them a few different ways over the last few months and here are my thoughts:
First impressions:
So I didn’t love these beige trousers right out of the bag. In part it is because they were a tiny bit tight. I’ve lost a little bit of baby weight since then so they fit a lot better around the waist now.
They are thin. They need to be steamed.
Material
These trousers are 100% polyester and don’t have any stretch. They are unlined and need a good steam to not be wrinkled (this is my favorite steamer from Amazon that I use).
The material is thin and doesn’t do you any favors (doesn’t hold you in very well).
I love the way they drape while you’re wearing them and the pleated details at the top.
Fit:
The trousers run true to size and I was a bit ambitious with my initial sizing order but a few months later they fit a lot better and I am really liking them. I am wearing a 34 (xs) and am usually a 25 in jeans right now).
I am 5’4″ and you can see how they fit here with just sneakers. They’re still a little long and touch the ground with sneakers but I don’t have to wear high heels which I love. I wore them with some kitten heels at a conference this week and they were the perfect length.
Styling Ideas
- With a cream sweater and neutral shoes
- With a black or white bodysuit to balance out the flowy pants
- With any kind of stripe
- With sneakers and a graphic tee
- With low heels and a button down
Price:
These are listed at $32 and I got them for just around $25 with whatever promotion they were running at the time.
Conclusion:
I’m a fan! These are very versatile. These were the perfect way to dip my toes into the trouser trend and I have been getting a lot more wear out of them than I initially thought.
