Chicwish Dress Review: Lemon Print Tie Dress

Today I’m sharing a mini review of this sundress from Chicwish. You can read my full Chicwish review and tips for ordering here.

Chicwish Lemon Print Dress: Bump Friendly Dress Reivew

I saw this lemon print dress when browsing Chicwish’s site around the same time we were solidifying plans for a little getaway to Aruba. It seemed like the perfect piece to be wearing on the beach. It is ideal for going from pool to dinner but could also be dressed up.

I’ve ordered from Chicwish a few other times in the last year (you can read my full Chicwish review and tips for shopping their site here). My favorite things have been their dresses and I had high hopes for this fun summery one.

Here’s how it stacks up:

First impressions:

The print is just as fun in person and it was so happy right out of the bag.

Fit:

I ordered my regular size in maternity clothes these days and it fits perfectly. This dress is not maternity but it is very bump friendly and I should be able to wear it through my third trimester and post partum as well.

Quality

The fabric on this is fully lined and I’m impressed with the thickness of it. This is not at all sheer and drapes well.

My one complaint is how the print of the fabric lines up on the tiers. You can see in the pictures that there are some tiers that are wider and then some narrower bands. Where the fabric meets doesn’t seem very intentional and the balance of the pattern looks a little off. To be fair, I didn’t notice this when I opened the dress, the first two times I wore it, or as I edited these pictures… but now that I have it is hard to unsee.

Where to wear:

  • Summer wedding
  • Baby shower (whether you’re the mom-to-be or a guest)
  • Just about anything else
  • Summer travel
  • Date night

Conclusion:

Cute, fun, unique.

I would 100% recommend.

outfit details:

dress: Chicwish. If you want a similar look for less, this dress looks super similar (but has no reviews yet)

sweater: I layered this cream Angel Maternity cropped sweater over this dress for dinner and it was perfect. I’ve been wearing this sweater over this style of sundress a lot lately as well as pairing it with high waisted leggings. It is so comfortable and so cute.

shoes: The Drop

earrings: Kendra Scott

  1. hey! trying to order this dress for my baby shower and I’m wondering what size you ordered. did it fit throughout your third trimester?

    1. Hi Hailey!

I ordered this in a small which is my usual maternity size (I’m an XS before pregnancy and gain about 50 pounds throughout pregnancy .. wearing a S in maternity clothing through the beginning or middle of my third trimester when a medium in maternity clothes fits a bit better in a lot of brands). It worked well in my second trimester and will fit after pregnancy.

This would not have fit me in my third trimester super well in a small but if you don’t gain as much weight as I do (and my belly sticks straight out like a basketball), your usual maternity size might work. This one is a similar style (a different print – they have a couple in this style) with fabric that is a bit more forgiving for a third trimester belly: https://angelmaternity.com/products/lilliana-blue-gingham-maternity-dress
