Fabletics Maternity Review:

I have seen influencers on instagram rave about Fabletics for years. My sister tried them and had a few good things to say. I’d also heard some horror stories about trying to cancel the monthly subscription (it isn’t easy).

I was intrigued by the idea of higher end athletic wear at Target prices and fell in love with so many of their cute sets.

Their maternity line isn’t extensive but it does come with the same introductory offer of 2 pieces for $25. For this price, it was worth seeing how the quality stacked up. It had to be better than the Shein maternity biker shorts I ordered. Would it be as nice as the more expensive Senita leggings?

Here’s how it stacked up:

Fabletics Maternity Pieces I ordered:

I loved the material on this right out of the bag. Everything is super soft and very luxe feeling for the $12.50 I paid for each of these pieces.

First impressions of Fabletics Maternity Leggings:

This was my first time ordering any pieces from Fabletics so I signed up for their 2 for $25 deal and ordered both of these pieces for $25. There were a few maternity options to choose from but I stuck with the basics:

Fit:

This is my main complaint with Fabletics maternity. What is the fit on these things?

They run true to size. I ordered my regular maternity size which is one up from my pre-pregnancy size (I gain 40+ pounds throughout pregnancy so I start at my pre-pregnancy size and end one or two sizes up by 40 weeks).

They fit well everywhere except for on the lower belly. There is a little bit of gaping / issue with fit where the bump starts to go out. The fabric on the leggings doesn’t stay contoured to your bump at the bottom. I thought maybe it was just the way I was carrying but I read a few reviews and it sounds like a lot of women have this same problem.

When I first tried them on I was convinced I wouldn’t wear them with the awkward fit. But, week after week, I keep reaching for them because they’re SO comfortable. Also, after looking at pictures, I can see that the fabric pulls a little funny in the lower bump area but not enough to be super noticeable.

The biker shorts and the maternity leggings fit the same when it comes to the lower bump. The biker shorts have a 9″ inseam and are on the longer side for biker shorts.

Summary: Order your regular pregnancy/ maternity size (which is your regular pre-pregnancy size unless you’re gaining 30+ pounds). Be prepared for an imperfect fit around the lower bump.

Quality:

The quality on these for the price is unbeatable. They are, hands down, the softest and most comfortable pair of maternity leggings I have worn this pregnancy. The only thing that compares is the “Once-on-never-off” leggings from Boob Maternity I wore in my first pregnancy that are significantly more expensive.

Both the biker shorts and the leggings are made of the same super soft material. It is not at all see through (and is squat proof if you’re at the gym or just bending over all day).

Ideas for wearing Fabletics Maternity Leggings + Biker Shorts

A good pair of maternity leggings and biker shorts are super versatile pregnancy staples. In general, the leggings are more flattering and give you a more put-together look. That said, sometimes it is just too hot for anything but biker shorts.

  • With your comfiest, oversize tee. Don’t overthink it. Comfort is #1 always while pregnant.
  • With a cropped sweater: Dress up your leggings a bit with your favorite cropped sweater. I have and LOVE this maternity one from Angel Maternity (comfy enough I wore it on a hike pictured below … and then just switched out my footwear for a nice dinner). You can also layer this entire look under a blazer or trench coat for a more professional look.
  • With any boxy cut top: What I love about over-the-bump leggings + shorts is you can get some more wear out of your non maternity items. You don’t need things to be long enough to totally cover the bump. Both buttondowns I’m wearing below are boxy, a bit cropped, and not maternity. I can’t wear them with regular maternity jeans without the belly panel showing but they work really well with leggings and biker shorts.

P.S. In the pictures below I’m wearing a different maternity biker short which is an inch or two shorter than the Fabletic ones.

Conclusion:

These are INCREDIBLY comfortable and great quality for the price. With the 2 for $25 deal you will not find a better quality or more comfortable maternity legging. The fit is a tiny bit off which might be a deal breaker for you but it isn’t super noticeable to anyone else (and doesn’t effect the comfort).

I would buy these again. I would text my sister and tell her to buy them. I just wouldn’t let these be my only pair of maternity leggings if I was looking for something to wear outside of the house.
