Mini Shein Maternity Review: Blue Floral Midi Dress
This was my first foray into Shein maternity clothing (I ordered it at the same time as this grey quarter zip). I have a few Shein non-maternity dresses I’ve been wearing regularly both pregnant and not so I had high hopes for this dress.
Here’s how it stacks up:
First impressions:
I loved the print and the color right out of the bag but was not thrilled with the polyester fabric.
Fit:
I ordered a size XS and a S in this maternity to see what would fit best and kept the XS (my pre-pregnancy size but I’m ordering most of my maternity things in a S these days). The XS fits well with plenty of room for a growing bump. Stick with your regular size for Shein maternity because their pieces are a pretty generous fit.
Quality
I don’t love the fabric of this dress. It isn’t as soft/silky as other polyester dresses I’ve ordered from Shein and it feels cheap. The material wrinkles easily (it also steams easily so the wrinkles do come right out) and I wish I’d had a maternity slip to wear with it so it didn’t cling to my legs).
All of that said, I love the look and style of this dress. I kept it because I love to spend up on maternity dresses that are going to be work horses in my closet (like this black dress from Hatch) but for a floral number I won’t realistically wear more than 10 times in the next 5 months, the price was right.
Conclusion:
If you’re looking for a fun, feminine, blue maternity dress for a baby shower, maternity photos, or just because pants are no longer comfortable, this one looks nice and doesn’t break the bank.
You can spend up for material that feels nicer but you can achieve the same look with this budget piece (under $20 right now) .
