What to Wear to a Park Playdate

What to Wear to a Park Playdate

As a mostly stay-at-home mom, most of what I’m wearing needs to pass the “playground” test.

Can I chase after my toddler in these shoes?

Can I climb up the play structure if I need to?

These jeans are the ultimate “play with your kids” and still feel put-together. I threw on a cozy old sweater and the most comfortable flats that are easy to clean if needed. I find I reach for them so more often than sneakers because I can slip them on without socks while holding a toddler.

Playdate Outfit details:

  • Madewell Polo Sweater: 2 years old but available in a few sizes on sale from Nordstrom (similar from Quince)
  • Belt: 5 years old from W. Kleinburg via Shopbop (Shopbop is always my go-to for discovering new, high quality brands)
  • Denim: Good American (favorite denim splurge of the year – these are incredibly stretchy and I just order my regular size)
  • Flats: Vivaia (so comfortable – I’ve had for a year – if you’re in between sizes, go up)
  • Bag: Vivaia (my day-to-day bag for the last 6 months)
  • Bow hoops: Shop Hey June – this is my favorite go-to brand for everyday jewelry pieces. They are Nordstrom Quality at Target prices and female-founded/owned. I’ve been shopping there for my own jewelry and gifts for the last 9 years and became an affiliate last year (use code “Elisabeth” for 15% off)

Oh and perfume! I’m always wearing something from Dime Perfume if I’m spending time with my kids. I love that they smell fantastic AND are a clean perfume I feel great about wearing around my littles (no hormone blockers here). I have a full list of scents so you can figure out which Dime Perfume to start with.
