Mini Shein Maternity Review: Ribbed Knit Tee and Pants Set
Shein Maternity items have been hit or miss for me this pregnancy. It all comes down to material which is harder to determine from product images. I ordered this ribbed set on Flash Sale and hoped it would be as good as it looked.
tip: I have found I generally like anything that says “ribbed” from Shein while I don’t love anything that says “waffle” in the description. The ribbed fabric holds up better during wearing and washing and the waffle material pulls very easily.
Here’s how it stacks up:
You really DO NOT need to size up in maternity wear from Shein. This looked really bit out of the package.
I ordered a M in maternity (1 size up from what I usually order in maternity clothing right now) and it is BIG. Shein maternity tends to run a little big so definitely don’t size up (stick with your pre-pregnancy size even if you’ve gained some weight).
That said, I like the looser fit of the top and, after drying it on high, it works just fine. I initially sized up for a looser fit and the hope that it will fit through the third trimester, which is absolutely will.
The length of the pants is a little bit too long on me to wear out without a wedge. I have paired them with these platform sandals and they work just fine. I’m 5’4″ for reference.
The material on these is a medium thickness textured material. I’ve worn and washed it 3-4 times and so far it has held up well. It isn’t super soft but it isn’t scratchy or itchy in the least. The material is cooler to the touch and nothing is see through.
I love that these can be worn together as a great lounge set but you can also wear them separately. I’ve been wearing the top as a maternity tee with jeans and leggings. I also plan on getting plenty of wear out of this set during the post partum phase.
This exact one has a few sizes left but this one looks quite similar with more sizes available.
