Best of Walmart Time and Tru

Today we’re talking all about the Time & Tru line from Walmart. This post is not sponsored (I purchased all these items on my own from Walmart) and may contain affiliate links.

Are you looking for affordable and trendy outfits that are as comfortable as they are cute?

Today, we’re diving into whether the Time and Tru line from Walmart makes the cut. You’ve probably seen this new brand/ line on your favorite fashion influencer (and maybe wondered why the same girl toting her designer bag is now pushing clothes from Walmart?).

I spent a solid year and a half balking at the influencers that got on social media sporting their Walmart finds a day after talking about their favorite pieces from the Shopbop sale. But, here I am, wearing the jeans that just arrived from my Shopbop package and spilling the tea on Walmart’s in-house private brand, Time and True.

Spoiler: It is mostly great (but if I had to only pick one brand from Walmart to shop it would still be Free Assembly).

What is Time and Tru?

Time and Tru is a clothing brand that was launched by Walmart in 2018. The brand offers a wide range of clothing options, including tops, bottoms, dresses, and accessories, for women of all sizes. Time and Tru’s mission is to provide affordable and stylish clothing that can be worn by women of all ages and sizes, without compromising on comfort and quality.

What I ordered and LOVED:

Hands-down, my best purchase from Walmart were these Raffia mules in 2023. Three years later and they’re still in regular rotation. They’ve held up better (and are objectively more comfotable) than my similar Jenni Kayne mules (which I also love).

I’m between a 6.5 and a 7. I ordered the 7 and they fit but are on the smaller size. Go up half a size in these. These have a memory foam footbed so they’re comfortable. I will definitely be buying more sandals from Walmart!

Best things to order from Time and Tru Right Now (2026):

Here are a few of my personal favorites and recommendations from friends:

  • Woven Ballet Flats: These are giving Madewell at a fraction of the price. I have the dark brown in my cart but love the white, too.
  • Fleece Button Pullover: This is so chic and SO comfy!
  • Woven Lady Jacket: This cardigan with the button detail whisper old money and sophistication. They’re easy to dress up or throw on with a pair of jeans.
  • Crochet Coverup Top: There’s a matching bottom and it comes in a pretty cream color and a gorgeous chocolate brown. This looks like something right off of Shopbop or Anthro but at a fraction of the price. These ones will absolutely sell out.

What I like about Time and Tru

Style and Trends:

One of the best things about Time and Tru is that it offers a variety of styles and trends. Whether you are looking for a classic and timeless look, or you want to stay up to date with the latest fashion trends, Time and Tru has got you covered.

Comfort:

Time and Tru understands that looking good is not the only thing that matters when it comes to clothing. That’s why they have made sure that their clothing is comfortable and made from high-quality materials. Their clothing is designed to be soft, breathable, and easy to wear, whether you are going out or staying in.

Everything I’ve ordered from this line has been relatively comfortable which I really appreciate!

Affordability:

One of the main reasons why Time and Tru has become so popular is its affordability. The brand offers durable clothing at a fraction of the price of other high-end brands. You can get a stylish and comfortable outfit without breaking the bank. This makes Time and Tru a great option for those who are on a tight budget but still want to look good.

What I don’t love about Time and True

  • Things sell out: If something is great or if a big influencer recommends a specific piece, it sells out quickly. You can’t count on Walmart to bring back the style that season. If you see something you love, order it ASAP. I wouldn’t wait for things to go on sale if you love them (but don’t let that stop you from scouring the sale section).
  • Quality: Some of the things I ordered I was very impressed with and some where exactly what I would have expected from Walmart clothing 10 years ago. As a general rule, the dresses, pants, and tops were great but I didn’t fall in love with the knit sweaters.

Time and Tru wins when it comes to style, comfort, and affordability. If you’re trying to look great without breaking the bank, don’t sleep on this one.

Okay, I want to hear – have you ordered anything from Time and Tru? Find any gems you loved? Leave a comment and let me know!

How does Time & Tru compare to other Walmart clothing brands like Faded Glory or White Stag?

Time & Tru is considered one of Walmart’s more fashion‑forward private‑label clothing brands, especially when compared to older labels like Faded Glory or White Stag, which leaned more heavily into basics. While those brands focused on core wardrobe staples, Time & Tru offers trendier products—think updated silhouettes, wide‑leg and skinny jeans, vests, and seasonal styles that feel closer to runway‑inspired looks seen in Vogue (but made wearable for real life). For shoppers looking for fashionable items in inclusive size women ranges without spending Target or Amazon prices, Time & Tru tends to feel fresher and more current.

Why is Walmart launching so many of their own brands?

Walmart’s push into brands like Time & Tru reflects a larger strategy among major retailers to develop own clothing brands and private‑label clothing brands that respond directly to shoppers’ desire for affordable, understandable fashion (another example is their private brand “George”. As the world’s largest retailer, Walmart uses its scale to cut out the middleman, boost profit margins, and offer clothing collections that can rival competitors like Target, Macy’s, and even the online leader Amazon. Analysts note that this approach—combined with updated store clothing departments, improved store displays, and expanded home goods and home furnishings—helps Walmart better serve modern families, especially busy home moms who want to shop clothing, home decor, and everyday essentials all in one destination.

  1. One thing that I want to emphasize Is that Time and Tru is planet friendly. I no longer buy any clothing that is not made from a biodegradable material (cotton and linen) or a recycled material, such as recycled polyester. There are whole mountains in Cambodia that are nothing but discarded clothing. Polyester is essentially a plastic and creates a phytoestrogen which is starting to impact all mammals, including humans. We are now eating, drinking, and eating microplastics. I am finding that No Boundaries clothing also has planet friendly options.

  2. what I can’t seem to understand is that time and true by Wal-Mart does not completely understand is that not all women needs or wants the same line of clothing like all other stores.it need to spend less time on trendy and more time on the fit.I’m 4p 5″2″ less skinny jeans.and to make the right measurements.
