Beating Wednesday with Virgin Drinks: 2 Recipes

This post is sponsored by Nestle and all opinions are my own, promise 🙂

How is it Wednesday already? Spending Monday driving back from NH has thrown off this whole week and generally we save the celebrating for Friday, but hey, why not celebrate a Wednesday?
Thanks to a little non-alcoholic bar in Provo I have a slight obsession with virgin mojitos and if you’ve ever been to Carabbas with Ben, it is quite evident he can put away Italian sodas faster than they can make them. I decided to use our new beverage of choice to create our two favorite specialty drinks to unwind tonight (yes, I literally took these pictures 20 minutes ago and we will be making many more to drink as the evening continues).
The combination of fruit, lime, and mint satisfies my taste buds like nothing else. I couldn’t find mango syrup so I tried grenadine for this mocktail and I loved it! I mixed it with lightly flavored sparkling lemon water but I wish their other flavor options had been in stock. Lime would have been perfect.
You’ll need:
  • 1 part Grenadine Syrup
  • 3 parts Sparkling Water (I used this lightly flavored bottle for $1.08)
  • juice of 1 lime wedge
  • fresh mint leaves for garnish
**disclaimer: Ben didn’t love these nearly as much as I did until I added a little more lime – apparently grenadine isn’t for everyone.
You’ll need:
  • 1 part Vanilla Syrup
  • 2 parts sparkling water (I used this cheap option)
  • 1 part whipping cream
  • whipped cream for top
  • striped straw

**The striped straw is not optional on the ingredients list for this little drink. Everything tastes better out of a striped straw.

You can see the ingredients I used above (lime, mint, and cream not pictured)^^

  1. Oh I'd love to join your little mocktail party.
    Here's my summer favorite:

    – fresh lime wedges (squeeze them before adding the ice)
    – elderflower syrup (don't know if you get that in the US …they might have it at IKEA)
    – little bit of ice
    – sparkling water (or champagne if you'd wanted a cocktail)
    – fresh mint leaves

    Summer lovin!

  2. yummy virgin drinks! i like to make these when the kids say they want a drink like an adult. i think its okay every now and then to make them feel special at the table with a cool drink glass like an adult.

can you add liquor to any of these drinks?

  3. Did you know Spark got closed down??? Some conflict with renewing the lease. All of a sudden they were closed with no sign of reopening.

  4. I'll share mine with you–the virgin sunrise cocktail:-put ice cubes in a glass-pour 1/3 of Sprite-pour 1/3 of orange juice-pour 1/3 of grenadine (in that order).The grenadine will settle at the bottom making the gradient look. It's DELICIOUS! That was our drink to toast for New Year's eve. :)xo,Ana Paula{Visit me at Mommyhood, PhD}

  5. Would that little non-alcoholic bar in Provo happen to be Sparks? 🙂 I love that place
