While home this weekend EVERYONE wanted to know what we think of Cincinnati and for the record, we love it. Ben loves his job, we have a great apartment (although anything is a step up from student housing), and we are falling in love with this city. I spent the first half of my life in fast-paced Tokyo and the second in borderline rural New Hampshire and am finding Cincinnati is the perfect sized city for me right now. There is definitely more to do here than there is in NH and a fun energy, but you have to travel far less than you do in Tokyo to find grassy hills and thick forests.

These are almost the last pictures from our anniversary shoot with Emily-Jane. We had fun plans to shoot up at a rooftop lounge with great skyline views which were foiled by strict “no underage photographer” rules (we didn’t bother explaining the three of us weren’t going to drink and it had nothing to do with our age). We ended up just exploring more of the city and as a result got some of these and my very favorite shot of the shoot (here). I have a goal to really get to know this city – who knows if we’ll be here for four years or forty, but I don’t want to look back and realized we only took advantage of a small part of what Cincy has to offer.

P.S. I have SO many pictures of our road trip adventures and of being home with the family that it may take a few days to sort through. Being home is always wonderful and this time, other than my camera I managed to almost completely unplug. My phone stayed off and upstairs 90% of the weekend and I went full days without checking blogs/email. Needless to say, I have lots of catching up to do.
