11 Summer 2025 Style Trends I’m Actually Wearing as a Mom in my 30s

We’re all living in our swimsuits and slides this season—but when I do get dressed, I want it to feel intentional and a little bit elevated. And in a world where it’s easy to default to oversized tees and bike shorts every day, I’m leaning into real outfits that still feel easy (and less tight than bike shorts, obviously).
Enter: these 11 summer trends. I’ve skipped the micro-minis and the sheer everything and found the trends we want to wear this summer. They’re practical enough for life with kids but stylish enough to add a little positivity + power to the morning.
And honestly? That’s the magic. I’m a big believer in enclothed cognition—the idea that what we wear actually affects how we think, feel, and show up in the world. When I put on something I feel good in, I’m more patient, more energized, and more present. It doesn’t have to be fancy. It just has to feel purposeful.
Here are the summer 2025 trends I’m actually wearing—and how they work for busy mom life:
1. Matching Sets
The easiest way to look put-together without thinking too hard. Whether it’s a sporty two-piece or a soft linen duo, matching sets take the guesswork out of getting dressed.
I’m eying the different linen pieces from Quince (I’ve heard great things about their linen and love the silk, cotton, and cashmere pieces I have from them).

2. Retro + Colorful Sneakers
Think throwback styles like adidas Sambas or Gazelles. They’re comfy, timeless, and surprisingly versatile. I love them with dresses, shorts, or even matching sets.
If you’re looking for a fresh update, these white sneakers are especially easy to pair with just about anything.
3. Tenniscore / Sporty Chic
Preppy polos, pleated skirts, and athletic-inspired dresses are everywhere—and I’m here for it. It’s a win-win for a pickleball date that turns into dinner. If you’re leaning into the sporty side of this trend, you can’t go wrong with classic workout shoes from adidas that look as good off the court as they perform on it.
4. Silk Pants
Bold prints, bright colors, and loose, swishy silhouettes—silk pants are my surprise favorite this summer. They feel like pajamas but look like a statement. Perfect with a fitted tank or a simple tee, they instantly dress up a casual day.
I’ve been stalking a few 100% silk options on The Real Real (because full-priced Zimmerman isn’t quite in the budget this summer).
5. Day Dresses with Sneakers
I aspire to this being my go-to outfit formula: an easy dress + retro or white sneakers. It works for errands, playground time, or even casual dinner plans.
6. Oversized Sunglasses
Not just stylish—practical. I live in oversized sunnies during the summer. They hide tired eyes and add instant polish (and some sun protection).
7. Butter Yellow
This soft, happy shade is having a moment. I’m loving it in everything from tees to swimsuits.
8. Crisp Whites
Whether it’s a white tank or a linen button-up, white feels fresh, clean, and endlessly pairable for summer.
On my summer shopping list is a great pair of wide-leg white crop pants. They might not be the most practical thing for a mom of 4 but….
9. Soft Green & Pistachio
A subtle shift from sage, this green is calm and wearable—a great neutral alternative with a bit more personality.
I had my colors done last year and this dusty green is right in my palette.
10. Micro-Stripes
Stripes will never go out of style, but this summer’s version is finer, more delicate, and super flattering.
11. Modern Floral Details
Think sketchy, abstract, or oversized floral prints. They feel artsy and grown-up without being too sweet. This is less “little house on the prarie” an more “art studio abstract.”
Anything you’re looking forward to wearing this summer?
Style doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes all it takes is one outfit you actually want to wear.
