We crossed another item off our Boston Bucket list this month by heading to Boston Public Gardens to ride the swan boats with friends!

It was my first real outing in the city solo with both kids at the Boston Public Gardens and while it was a bit crazy some of the time (like when the sweet attendant at the swan boats reprimanded me for not keeping better track of Lincoln), I’m so glad we went. That seems to be the story of our life these days – all the events that seem too overwhelming or too much work to go to, are always worth it (the only questionable ones are social events that coincide with dinner or bedtime – I have not yet mastered eating and wrangling tired children).

We started with the fun park in Boston Commons, skipped the carousel on the way to the Boston public gardens, but did stop for a pretty tasty Caesar salad wrap at the little snack hut. We paid our $5.50 for tickets (adults are $3.50, children over 2 are $2, and Adelaide was free) and managed not to fall off the boat for our 14 minute ride around the Boston Public Gardens lagoon.

We’ll go again in the spring and spend a few weeks reading “Make Way for Ducklings” before we go just so Lincoln can be even more excited about it.

A few more pictures (less than usual because it is near impossible to take a decent picture and keep track of two toddlers in public – thank goodness for friends!):

  1. Oh boston sounds so fun now that fall is here. Don’t be bothered by the reprimands. I think the employees are a little nervous when it comes to water and toddlers. Too many people sue and do lawsuits now days u involving accidents with children so they are just taking extra measures just in case.

  2. This swan boat sounds amazing! My girls would love riding on it for sure. Such pretty photos too!
