Family Date in Cambridge: Flat Patties + Cambridge Commons

We’re on the hunt to find the best burgers, the best ice cream, and the best parks in Boston (and if we also come across the best pizza and tikka masala, I won’t be upset). We started our search with wandering across the bridge into Cambridge for a morning of slides, sand pits, and french fries.

After a leisurely stroll through Harvard square, we made our way up to Cambridge Commons where they have a fun pirate themed park. I’m a little over sand pits at this point because we bring at least a tablespoon of sand back to our kitchen anytime a park has one, but the kids had lots of fun climbing around before we started looking for a place to eat.

Flat Patties came recommended but we happened on it by chance while walking back to downtown and decided to give it a shot. We were initially impressed with the prices and the food didn’t disappoint. I appreciated that they had grilled cheese on the menu for Lincoln and about 4894 more burgers I’m excited to try. There was limited downstairs seating but we snagged one of the only tables and didn’t have to haul the double stroller upstairs.

A few more pictures from the morning:

outfit details:

French silk top, c/o (the back button detailing is my favorite)

Lucky Brand Linen Joggers, sold out from a few years ago but they’re SUCH a great staple for spring + summer and similar styles are available here (save) and here (splurge).

Cece Flats: (favorite flat for walking around all day – good enough I’ve bought them in 4 colors)

  1. Your blog is so active lately and I love it, I am a HUGE New England fan after living in NH and Maine and Boston seems okay too. Keep up the good work.

  2. What a beautiful city to live in! Always love reading your posts and seeing your cute family, I am especially partial to Adelaide because my daughter is the same age and she reminds me of her 🙂
