Little Striped Dress // Special Occasion Style
How is it that Valentine’s is less than a week away?! As much as I loved attending Alt Summit and visiting friends out west, it is wonderful being back home with Benjamin. We’ve been apart a lot (relatively) since we’ve been married and while I always think its a good idea when I book the tickets, occasionally I wonder why I ever leave. I don’t know if its the little surprise for Vday Ben let me in on this week or the fact that we’ve been apart for more than two weeks, but I am extra excited to celebrated love this season.
This outfit would be perfect for a Valentine’s day look (although you might want to add some black tights with the heels) and easily transitions from a more casual setting to a fun evening out. By switching up the Lauren Conrad boots for a sleek pair of her heels, the dress goes from fun to flirty without being too dressy. I picked everything up for this look at Kohl’s (and struggled to not bring home half of Lauren Conrad’s line with me – that celebrity knows how design clothes)
I
^^I layered this Lauren Conrad sweater over the dress to add some warmth and turn the dress into a skirt. I had to the bottom of the sweater up and belt it because its a regular length but I love the way it turned out.The red belt adds a little Valentine’s pop but you could keep it neutral with a black belt or go for another fun color.
^^These riding boots were on sale and I wanted to bring home the brown ones too.
^For an easy day to night transition, all I had to do was take off the belt, sweater, and leggings, and add a necklace and heels (totally doable if you’re on the go). Looking back, I’d probably add tights for a Valentine’s look but I love how you can wear this dress now and then keep styling it all spring/summer.
^The bow heels were my very favorite find at Kohls (they have them online for 50% off right now!).
^A bright clutch is a fun way to bring in color this the classic black and white palette
^Little earrings keep the bow theme from the shoes going 🙂
^I love this boy – and that he’ll jump in pictures with me.
