Baby’s First Santa Visit

Have you met Santa this year?

I didn’t think Santa pictures were going to happen this year (and they didn’t actually happen last year either) so I was pumped to find out Providence Place Mall is offering a socially-distanced Santa experience through January 7th. We got to meet Santa, chat with him at a safe distance, and snap a few pictures with Westley on my lap (less stressful for baby than being set on a strangers lap FOR SURE- can we keep this way of doing it around next year, too?). He was a little hesitant at first but warmed right up at Santa kept up a friendly banter. He waved and babbled which is about as good as it gets with an 18 month old.

Afterwards we took Santa’s sleigh out for a spin for a virtual experience and it was so magical! Santa comes on screen and welcomes you and then you’re off cruising over the rooftops. The sleigh really moves and Westley loved all of the dials! I wish my 4 and 5 year olds had been there – they would have LOVED IT.

Once we were done they sanitized the whole area and only then let in another family.

Boston Friends: If you’re looking to keep the magic alive this holiday season, Providence Place is a super easy drive from Boston with great parking. You can also check out fun after Christmas sales (Madewell, J.Crew, Loft, Old Navy, Boscov’s, North Face, Lego + more) and we always grab lunch at Panera on our way out. Right now if you book a “Sleigh it with Santa” experience, you can take home a $25 Boscov’s gift card (while supplies lasts). Plus, you get a little digital video from the experience you can send to loved ones or keep as a 2020 Christmas memory.

Westley was a little unsure at first but he loved getting to wave at Santa from my arms and his favorite part was, hands down, playing in Santa’s sleigh. Do I need to go back with Lincoln and Adelaide now, too?

P.S. Westley is 18 months but we didn’t make Santa happen last year so this made a great first experience!
