Why Sunday Now Starts at 6:45

I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday. We love Sundays around here. Sundays give our fingers a needed break from climbing, our minds a needed break from studying, and our souls some needed vigor. After a morning of church meetings, we embrace the “day of rest” and cherish our Sunday nap time. Nap time just got a little more important though, because as of this week, the alarm goes off Sunday morning at 6:45 am. Why?

Because Ben just got called as the first counselor in our bishopric.

[In the Mormon church we don’t have payed clergy, and so all positions are filled when an invitation to serve is extended by a church leader who has had revelation from God on where that person is needed in the Church. They keep their jobs/families/school and make time to serve in whatever way the Lord has asked them.]

Basically, if the bishop is gone or away for family or business, Ben leads our congregation. Craziness. He has meetings from 7-9am before church and I’ve already been home for an hour and a half since we got out at 12 and he’s still not back šŸ™‚

It will be a sacrifice but it will also be such a great blessing. I am so humbled to be married to someone who lives worthy of his priesthood and who is willing to dedicate so much of his life to the Lord. Thanks Ben for being such a great example of love, service, and obedience.

You’re going to be great šŸ™‚
