This weekend was busy, tiring, fun, exciting, productive, and wonderful 🙂
To start from the beginning:
Once I got out of class on Friday I met my fabulous cousin lauren ….to STUDY. Gross, I know – but being in the middle of midterms and all, there was no way around it. After an hour or so I dashed home to pick up the place a bit before Ben got home from work and we took Connor and Lauren rock climbing at The Quarry. On Fridays we can each bring a guest for free and we love sharing rock climbing with friends and family (and I like climbing with someone that isn’t 89843 times better than I am every once in awhile 🙂 Connor and Lauren had a lot of fun (and were sore for the next few days 🙂 They gave up after about an hour and a half but Ben and I decided to work it for another half hour or so. Once I had convinced him to leave… we ran into Jordan and Tyler (one of our very favorite married couples) and ended up climbing with them for another hour before hitting up the dessert bar at Sizzlers (possibly one of Provo’s best kept secrets). $1 for all you can eat softserve and toppings 🙂
Saturday morning we were up early to meet Lauren in the library yet again to do a last review before taking my International Relations midterm…it went really well! To give you a little taste of what we needed to know for this test: every country and its location in the world, anything from the international section of the new york times for the past month and a half, 200 pages of our text book, and lecture notes. After getting a little more work done Ben and I headed tot he mall. Yes, my wonderful husband decided he wanted to take me shopping for fall clothes 🙂 Its so fun that Ben has suggestions and opinions and turns out he actually has pretty good taste. Six bags and a Clinique bonus gift later – we headed for round two of this weekends rock climbing. Once we got back from the gym at 10 I wanted to test out my NEW MOUNTAIN BIKE! Yes, while I was studying Ben had driven to Salt Lake and bought me my very own bike. After a late night ride we were ready for hot chocolate and bed.
Sunday – Can I just say I love the sabbath? I love how peaceful and relaxing it is. I started with a church committee meeting at 9 … after which we went to church. After church we decided to take a stroll around the Provo Temple. and GUESS WHAT?? We happened to be strolling around the temple when a certain missionary and his district took their Sunday walk around the temple….WE GOT TO SEE CALEB! He is so cute. He is doing so well and working so hard to learn the Spanish language to be able to spread the joyous message of Christ to the people of the Washington D.C. area. He has another two weeks in the Missionary Training Center here in Provo (he’s so close and I don’t ever usually get to see him) before he heads of to D.C. It was so good to see him, hear about his life, and meet his companions.

The rest of the day was filled with bike rides and card games on our new picnic blanket in the park, making cookies, visiting friends, and finally, curling up and collapsing into bed. What a fantastic weekend. I loved getting to see my brother, spend al lot of time with Ben, and visit with friends 🙂
