Three Staples for Fall

August 20, 2018 //  by Elisabeth McKnight//  2 Comments

This post contains gifted items and/or affiliate links. And I’m only sharing what I’m wearing + loving, promise.

We’re still in the middle of summer but we have week of low seventies right now and I can almost taste fall! We’re spending the week in Newport (so much more on instagram stories) and it has me so excited for Ben to start school, the rest of us to get back into a routine, and to break out all the fall layers.

I’ll add chunky cardigans to this look when the temps really drop but here are three pieces I’ve picked up recently that, I can already tell, will be staples this autumn.

Raw Hem Jeans

I ordered this pair of raw hem jeans from Shopbop on a whim during the sale a few months ago and have been living in them ever since. I dare say they’ve passed these jeans as my very favorite. They are incredibly comfortable and at 5′ 4″, the crop fit is a perfect ankle length for me.

The raw hem adds a modern twist and some visual interest to classic cropped skinnies (but is more tasteful to my mother than full distressing 😉 I’m just resisting the urge to cut off the hems on the rest of my jeans 😛

Bow Flats

I stopped in the M. Gemi Fit Shop in Boston on Newbury Street last month and fell in love with everything in there. These neutral bow flats will be a staple for fall and I’m eyeing these heels as a possible birthday present (November, come quickly!).

Lace Tee

I snagged this outlet shopping a few weeks ago and it goes with everything. I picked it up to finally have something to wear with this skirt and have found myself pulling it out over and over again to pair with other things. Plus, the price point can’t be beat.

honorary mention: new helmets

We’re a full week into recovery since Adelaide’s run in with the closed doors and the ensuing ambulance ride to Boston Children’s. The sweet EMT recommended full face mask helmet contraptions that, two months ago, I would have rolled my eyes at and now I’m adding to my amazon cart pronto. Either that or we’re steering clear of any hills on scooters ever again (but not giving up the scooters – those are still the best money I’ve ever spent on toys).
