I feel like I’ve been playing catch up all week long (catch-up from what, I’m not quite sure). It means I’m feeling a bit behind on everything and not quite great at anything. But, such is life…and tomorrow will be better.
Want a real mom moment? I put Linc down on the floor (on his back, away from anything he could choke on), and walked back to my bathroom, turned on the fan to drown out the cries, and counted to ten.
Want another real mom moment? After fighting his evening nap today for a full twenty minutes, I gave up and went in to get the suffering baby and start the long stretch till bedtime. Once his eyes found me from between the slats on his crib, the cranky baby broke out in a burst of giggles. We proceeded to laugh together for a full five minutes.
These pictures are from an attempted family activity the other weekend. With all this warm weather, and Lincoln’s undying love of bath time (just hearing the water turn on is enough to bring a smile to his face), I thought an outdoor bath would be such a treat. Maybe we just needed a bigger tub, but Lincoln was rather unenthused. He just lied there, squinting up at us, as if to ask, “is this really necessary, Mom?” And then it started to rain.
Life with you, Linc, is something else. And whatever it is, I love you more than ever.
