At a lecture last week from Peter Huntsman (yes, the presidential candidate, John Huntsman’s brother) encouraged us to surround ourselves with people who are better than we are. This way, we are always striving to be better. I like the commonality between these two admonitions – we need to surround ourselves with people who will make us better.
In marrying Ben, I have certainly done that.
In choosing to come to BYU, I have surrounded myself with people of a moral (and generally an academic) caliber that can’t help but inspire change.
In being born and Earnshaw, I am surrounded by those that I will always admire.
So far, so good.
