Here’s my favorite set of pictures from our time in California (basically the ones I wanted to take in this beach post but Lincoln wasn’t sitting well on his own yet and it was WAY too cold).
This boy could spend hours army crawling through the sand. He needed us to save him from the waves a few times when he made a beeline for the water, but other than that, he was content to explore while we looked on. After a solid hour of pulling himself through the sand, and before we needed to pack up and head home, we stripped him down to rinse him off before dressing + diapering him for the drive home. Pre-rinse, I snapped a few pictures of his cute baby bum on the beach. He’ll kill me for it in a decade or so, but I couldn’t help myself.
A few other things I want to remember from the day:
- Lincoln ate sand once and then didn’t bother with it again
- Ben accidentally let him catch a wave to the face and while he was stunned, it didn’t seem to bother him
- He wouldn’t sit still for more than 10 seconds in the sand – he always wanted to be crawling.
- California may have been beautiful and warm, but the water was still COLD.
Lincoln’s + my suit via Target (his is recent and mine is not)
