Last Thursday I had the privilege of seeing some spring looks styled for the runway, thanks to the wonderful girls over at Saks Cincinnati. It was an evening full of bold patterns, neutral colors, and lots of beautiful people (and it got me very excited for a fun collaboration with them we have coming up next month!).
It was the first full day company was in town last week so we gave the girls a little challenge: my sister and her friend had to thrift an outfit over the course of Thursday’s adventures that they could wear to the fashion show (and they couldn’t spend more than $7). We spent the morning at a few different stores before coming back to change before heading downtown — keep reading to see what they came up with!
^^I opted for my favorite skirt and heels but instead of pairing them with a floral blouse like I did here, I went went for black and dots. Which look do you like better?
Keep reading after the jump for pictures from the event!
^^to me this represented one of the most wearable looks from the evening
^^the subtle ombre in this top reminds me of this sweater I fell in love with last month
^^the gold adds the perfect detailing to these gorgeous nude heels
^^there were so many gorgeous neutrals throughout the show
^^I’m not quite sure I’m ready to wear blush and coral together, but I’m loving the pieces separately
^in addition to soft neutrals there were plenty of pops of color
^the grand finale
We took over the runway afterwards for a few pictures 😉 ^^Nicole and Jamie in their (mostly) thrifted looks 🙂
^someone asked if we were all sisters 🙂
^gettin’ our model on
^one of the highlights of the night was getting to meet this darling girl (and it was her birthday) – making ‘in-person’ connections is one of the things that is so rewarding about blogging. You can check out what she wore to the event here.
^^the show had a delicious snack bar (with rosemary popcorn!)
^outside the show
^^I got the coolest sister award for bringing these two to a fashion show 🙂
^I loved how Jamie dressed up the funky green jacket over a slinky evening dress (the fabric of that jacket has a neat sheen to it) // Nicole spent most of her budget on that beautiful navy pencil skirt so we finished the outfit with pieces from my closet (links below)
