Since moving to Findlay, we’ve headed back to Cincinnati for a weekend about once a month (or more). I love that we made such dear friends last year that going back still feels like going home (I’m also grateful that its only a little more than two hours away because it has made this transition to life in a new place slow but more fun).
Usually we arrive at Casey’s on Friday night just in time for a few hours of games and then Saturday the husbands and wives alternate watching the kiddos while the other goes out for tennis/golf or shopping/pedicures, respectively. This time though, all six of us spent part of the day together at a fall festival (Blooms and Berries in Loveland for anyone local) and it was fantastic. The weather was much more reminiscent of summer, but we braved the sweat and sun for the sake of the gorgeous sunflowers and picturesque pumpkin patches.
Here are a few pictures (after the jump) of our fall festivities:
^real camera pictures, iphone camera pictures, real camera pictures of iphone camera pictures….we just couldn’t get enough of these sunflowers.
^Have you ever seen a sunflower closed like this? It was a first for me.
^we love this little family (much more than little T likes to take family pictures, clearly :P)
^I love this little family too 😉
Ben spotted this flower and pointed out it should be some inspirational poster entitled, “RISE ABOVE”
^I love spending weekends down in Cincinnati for many reasons, but one small one is watching Ben with little T and Maddie … it is so fun imagining how great he’ll be with our own little guy in a few months
^watching Casey with her two kids has been my crash course in motherhood this past year … and I couldn’t ask for a better example. On another note, how is this baby 6 months old? It feels like last week we was throwing her baby shower and just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital.
^We also took a little hayride out to a pumpkin patch. Note to self: pregnancy and bumpy hayrides are not the greatest of combos.
^this little man was more interested in the truck than the pumpkins – but that was no surprise
^a well hidden 24 week baby bump (and Ben was far better dressed for the weather than I was)
^maybe this picture was taken mid baby kick? not quite sure what is going on with the baby bump there or if the light is just playing tricks on me (picture stolen from Casey)
^These little hunter boots killed me … they also made me strangely excited to have matching boots once our little guy learns how to walk (getting ahead of myself, I know)
I hope you all had a wonderful fall weekend too – thanks for letting me share a piece of ours!
