I just put in the final load of baby laundry and once her little pink sleeper is dry and back in the hospital bag, baby girl can officially arrive (although if she comes right now, I’m totally open to making Ben run back and grab the “going home” outfit after she’s born). To pass the time before she arrives, I’ve been trying to have a few fun things planned so I’m not too caught up in the “I’m still pregnant” phase. Last week I treated myself to a pedicure after my OB appointment, today I’m getting caught up on blog things at Panera, and last night I had a few friends over to celebrate this crazy journey that is motherhood.
We spent the evening sipping fizzy drinks, indulging in some treats, and swapping battle stories (it made me equally excited and terrified to give birth again). In addition, Dreft sent over some goodies to share with the girls in honor of the glorious and messy moments of parenthood. Here are a few pictures from the evening (while I go do some lunges in hope of inducing labor):
The girls went home with little swag bags from Dreft including the Stage 1: Newborn Detergent (its a hypoallergenic detergent specially formulated for newborn babies’ skin). Everyone also got a bottle of Dreft Blissfuls, in-wash scent boosters that give you more of the baby fresh scent while being safe on all colors and fabrics.
^Its the number one pediatrician recommended detergent for babies and I’m wondering why I didn’t have any last time around? They did send me their Dreft Stage 2: Active Baby which is perfect for active toddlers and all the stains they acquire (and I thought the massive laundry loads were over when Lincoln stopped spitting up #nosuchluck).
^When you’re hosting a party at 38.5 weeks pregnant, you don’t beat yourself up over deciding to nap instead of bake and just pick up Krispy Kreme donuts for the treats.
^I also went with an assortment of cute little specialty sodas for beverages and let each guest pick their own. I love how they managed to add to the decor as well.
^Have you ever grilled donuts?? I saw something on snapchat the other day and knew I wanted to try it. We used a panini grill and then added chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and ice cream. Next time around I wont press so hard on the grill so we still get the crispy outside without sacrificing the fluffiness of the donut but overall, SO GOOD!
^the soda line-up (I loved the black cherry and the JIN+JA)
^Just to document this belly for posterity
