Overcast Weekends + Family Walks

Sometimes I to pinch myself to remember this is real life (and other times I need to pinch myself simply to stay awake). With the weather warming up, the babe being on a pretty regular schedule, and the house finally getting put together, life is lots of fun these days and we are starting to really get into the groove of this “new normal.” Maybe it was something about Memorial Day handing us a four day work week last week, but the weekend came quickly and we loved (almost) every rainy second of it. Between dumps of rain, we packed up the car and took a little family stroll before we put Lincoln down for bed on Saturday night.

Little Linc is getting ever more alert these days so taking him out and showing him things is getting more and more fun! One of these days I’ll break of the real camera sometime other than right before bed so I can show you how giggly he is getting. Before bed though, he is wide eyed and calm (usually) and just soaks it all in.

^fun story: I got my first pair of Sperry’s on our honeymoon (blue plaid). Whenever I wear them I’m reminded of our week on the sandy beaches of Key Largo. Maybe these new ones I just got will remind me of being a brand new mom? Maybe, maybe not, but they’ve been my go-to the past couple weeks and I love the classic preppy feel of Sperrys for the summer (and I’m already excited for when Lincoln wears shoes and we can have matching mom & son boat shoes).
