So I had these grand plans to share pictures of one of our favorite holiday traditions and the yummy artichoke dip we ate while we made them. But these cold/flu/whatever it has been was rough. It meant I got out of sweatpants for an hour and a half in the past five days and we’re postponing the actual ginger bread house decorating until Christmas eve. And so it means that tonight I’m sharing one of our favorite holiday traditions (sans pictures) and the easiests of dips that we’ll almost certainly have no leftovers of come Christmas eve.
For our very first date (over FOUR years ago?), Ben and I decorated gingerbread houses (well, graham cracker houses…infinitely easier). He wore a white v-neck and we sipped martinellis along with his roommates (it was a very large group date). Afterwards we looked at Christmas lights and he drove me the two blocks home.
Anyway, whatever your holiday traditions are, this artichoke dip is the easiest addition and tastes something like a warm hug. I just followed KRAFT’s recipe for their traditional artichoke dip and it’s really yummy but in the future I’ll totally experiment with different cheeses and maybe a bit of spinach. If you need to whip something up in just a few minutes here’s the easiest holiday appetizer yet (and I’m wondering why I’ve never made artichoke dip before…):
What You’ll Need:
- 1 can artichoke hearts, drained and finely diced
- 1 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 cup KRAFT Real Mayo Mayonnaise
- 1 clove garlic, finely minced
What You’ll Do:
- mix it all together
- spread on a 9″ pie pan
- bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes
- enjoy with chips, crackers, sliced baguettes, or just about anything else 🙂
So now excuse us while we go enjoy the rest of this and maybe a good Christmas movie or two (side note: I did get out of my pajamas today and left the house three times…this is a drastic improvement over last week. Maybe Christmas miracles do happen 🙂 .
