I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating love! Growing up, Valentine’s was always a fun holiday at the Earnshaw house. We celebrate with a big family dinner, with little gifts at each place setting and some homemade valentine’s. It was always the celebration of love, and loved ones, which we all had in family whether or not we were single or taken. That said, Valentine’s is a lot of fun when I’ve picked the one I’ll always celebrate with.
Ben and I started out the morning at the climbing gym (the things we do for love). After a morning of routes we bundled up and headed downtown for skating on Fountain Square and my very favorite hole in the wall, Tom & Chee. On the rink we practiced our olympic inspired moves and took a stab at an ice dancing routine. We warmed up over the best grilled cheese and tomato soup in town.
We meant to make it home for a few hours before heading back downtown for the Ballet on Friday night but with the snow getting worse we just hung around for a few hours (and were a little under dressed to the ballet). We saw Cincinnati’s Ballet perform King Arthur and while it was very different from any ballet I’ve ever seen, it was a perfect way to introduce Ben to the ballet (plenty of sword fighting). The live music was phenomenal and it was neat to see a ballet comprised primarily of male principal dancers. Ben did well in the Valentine’s surprise department 🙂
I’m thinking about trying out for the 2018 olympic team 😉
^^the best selfie we can take with this lens 🙂
^^I know I’ve professed my love for Tom & Chee before, but there was no other place I wanted to ear for lunch of Valentines 🙂
**I left the camera in the car for the ballet – every once in awhile its nice not to be the girl standing on chairs to get better pictures of things 😉
