Good morning! I hope you survived Monday… If it was just barely, you can check out how I’m enjoying the first half of the week here (look for my post).
This weekend Ben and I got all sorts of productive and finally started making some progress on our office/second bedroom. We now have a desk the length of the wall, only one box, and lots of exposed floor space (its huge progress, people). A lot of you have asked for pictures of our apartment and while I had the goal of being all moved in and decorated by the end of the summer, with so much traveling it really hasn’t happened. We’ve got almost all the bare furniture necessities so now its mostly about the decor and details (think curtains for the first time in our marriage!). I’ll take a few snapshots this week so you can get a feel of what we’re working with because even though it has a long way to go, it feels like a castle after Provo housing…but what doesn’t.
Following our furnishing and cleaning spree on Saturday we headed to an open house at our bishop’s to mingle with a few people in the ward (read: congregation) and get to a know a few new faces. This ward here in Cincinnati has been one of the biggest blessings in our move to Ohio. I didn’t need to be worried about not making friends, having things to do, or getting involved. Everyone has been so welcoming, inclusive, and kind that I’m starting to believe we could be very happy here for a long long time.
And a few pictures we snapped before jumping in the car:
^^My mom gave me this jacket the summer we got married and I wore it when I went to the temple
