I went to bed at 6 pm last night, and slept a full eleven hours. I’ve been feeling a little under-the-weather recently, but in the best way possible. It’s the “I’m getting sick because I haven’t slept because I’ve been doing too many wonderful things” kind of under-the-weather and I wouldn’t trade any late nights with my sisters or long evenings with my father this last week for anything.
Home was wonderful. I’ve said it before and I”ll say it again, but there is nothing more magical than New England at Christmas. My mom transforms the house into a Christmas wonderland with over 6 trees, countless nativities, fresh garlands, and lights galore! It was a short trip, just a few days, and not nearly long enough to get my fill of my favorite people (is that even possible?). I think I could sip herbal tea by the fire while chatting with my mother forever
We got to California last night, after 11 hours of driving and a pounding headache. It isn’t socially acceptable to get out of bed at 5 am in someone else’s house so I’m still snuggled in under the covers, with Ben cuddled next to me. It is a wonderful start to his last winter break.
Here’s to a happy holidays, wherever it may be 🙂
