We are still here at my parents house in New Hampshire and enjoying every last possible moment before we head back to Cincinnati. We’ve had lots of late nights playing games, plenty of delicious food, and one big mishap.
The Mishap: On Monday we set out early afternoon with high hopes of bouldering (rock climbing that doesn’t involve ropes or harnesses and much shorter rocks) in Pawtuckaway State Park. After a few hours of wandering in the woods (through at least a foot of snow in some places) we found only one boulder mentioned by the guidebook. We gave up, a little discouraged and very frustrated. Five minutes up the unpaved, ice covered road, our car slipped off into a side rut. We spent a good hour trying to dig ourselves out. Ten minutes after we caved and called my mom, a nice man happened down the road and offered to help. After we were unstuck, we needed to pull over to the side so his big SUV could pass….which got us stuck again (and now he had turned the bend and wasn’t there to help)! So SO frustrating. Thankfully, due to that very competent husband of mine, few maneuvers and a couple prayers later, we were on our way home. It’ll make a good story someday, to look back on the miserable hours spent not finding our rocks followed by another hour or two digging ice chunks out from under our tires…but that’ll be a few years down the road.
On a brighter note, this Everly skirt from Lulu’s is as amazing as a skirt can be. The quality is wonderful and the color is darling. I love the way it falls, the delicate pleats, and the knee length. It nods to the midi trend without being as long or as full as so many of the other skirts are.
This whole outfit is so fitting for spring and would be perfect for heading to Easter brunch and then a Sunday service. If you’re looking for something for Easter, or just to add some spring pastel to your wardrobe, this skirt in mint or peach fit the bill. Keep an eye out for the next part of my Easter collaboration with Lulu’s coming later this week!
