There has been lots of food on the blog recently (a direct reflection of the week I’ve had) so I wanted to drop in with an outfit before the weekend officially starts.
We’re in the midst of our first real snow storm in Cincinnati, which really blows my mind because two days ago it was over sixty degrees and we were wearing tee shirts. Our holiday party tonight has been cancelled and I’m excited to hunker down, drink some hot chocolate, and play in the snow tomorrow. When I don’t have to drive in it, snow is my favorite. I was jealous of dump Utah got recently and am thrilled we’re getting our own. There is something so peaceful, almost mystic, about a fresh layer of snow that begs for a good book, a warm fire, and a fresh loaf of pumpkin bread.
This outfit is definitely not something I’ll be wearing this weekend, but if I switched out the heels for boots and added some tights, it would still be great for winter. I am really loving all of the wool and plaid this season (remember this skirt?), especially because I can avoid the mall and find so much of it at local thrift stores. They’re so easy to layer and are the perfect mix of New England woods and east coast prep.
