Good morning! While you’re reading this, I’m sitting shotgun on our ten hour drive to Northern California and our official “summer vacation.” No work. No School. Just family, food, beach, and sun. Hopefully a book or two, lots of pictures, and a few good servings of ice cream 🙂 So right now happiness is this trip… but its also a lot more than that:
Happiness this week has been all about love, life, and how the two have began to mix for us. We celebrated our one year anniversary on Monday and I cannot tell you (although I guess I have for the past four days) how truly wonderful life is. Life is better, but I was a really happy person before I was married. The difference is the capacity for happiness is so much greater. With that is the potential for heart break too but, Ben is quick to forgive and even quicker to apologize. Find someone who is humble like that. Ben didn’t, but I’m working on it.
So to answer the question, I am happiest when I am in love. Which I guess is all the time, but I’m talking when I’m really “in love.” In those moments that I realize how wonderful life is. Sometimes its when we’re clinking out wedding crystal and toasting to our first year of marriage. But sometimes its when I’m holding Ben’s hand and licking my ice cream cone on a warm summer night.
Oh, and because it was our anniversary, those pictures our some of our engagements (and picmonkey filters). Thats allowed right?
For a little more summer happiness I asked these two girls what makes them happy. And I love both of them. (and they’re both awesome people in real life because I happen to be spoiled enough to know them – so go say hi for me, k?)
This cute girl and I worked together at BYU before her and her husband moved to Chicago for med school this past month and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her not smiling. I love seeing all her new apartment updates on her blog and can’t wait for baby bump pictures because guess what, she’s expecting! Sara told me:
“Happiness is veing asked out on a date by my cute husband, especially if it involves chocolate. Oh, and surprises. Those make me happy for hours.”
Brittany is the cutest girl ever, and she loves rock climbing (huge plus in my book). I loved stalking her Paris travels on her blog these past few months but now she’s back in Provo and we’ve been able to climb together a few times. Oh, and you have to go check out her new red hair. I love it. She told me she’s happiest when:
“…meeting people! I used to be extremely shy, but as I’ve grown up I’ve learned to be absolutely humbled by the goodness that people have. People are the absolute greatest and have so much to offer!”
And really, if you get the chance to meet her, she really is a doll 🙂
