[ad] Hunger Heroes – make a difference

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Collective Bias and Tyson, and I promise all opinions are my own (as always).

Ben and I are on the road! We’re en route to NH with a fun few detours planned for the next few days including a dinner date with this girl. #itsbeentoolong While we’re traveling I wanted to share a product with a great cause with you. Remember the pool party I shared last month? Well I’m back with another Tyson product and their neat new initiative Hunger Heroes Champions for Kids Project at Sam’s Club.

Did you know that in 2011 over sixteen million children lived in food insecure households?
Oh that is just in America.
Yes, in the United States of America there are millions of children living in hunger.

Last Friday was just an average day around these parts. I exercised with friends in the morning, got some blogging done, cleaned the house a little, and set out for lunch at Sam’s club (okay maybe that last part isn’t routine, but who doesn’t love samples at Sam’s club?). I picked up a bag of Tyson Chicken Nuggets and became a Hunger Hero. For every bag of nuggets purchased, Tyson donates a meal to children in need. I’ve been experimenting incorporating the nuggets into different meals around here and these are my favorite so far:

  1. Cut up and put over whole wheat pasta and tomato basil sauce with parmesan cheese.
  2. Tossed over a fresh salad with poppyseed dressing.
  3. Crispy out of the oven dipped in homemade honey mustard sauce (I just mixed our spicy brown mustard with some honey yesterday and loved the way it turned out).

I’m not a huge fan of raw meat so I like these, and I liked them even more when Ben got super excited we were having chicken nuggets with our dinner 🙂 I love quick and easy options that are supporting a good cause.

If you want to become a Hunger Hero you can pick up your own bag of Tyson Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets at Sam’s Club and if you aren’t sold on them, stop by on 8/24, 8/25,8/29, 8/30 or 8/31 from 11-2 for a demo and free sample (see pictures of my trip here) .

Remember, 16 million children in America go hungry. What can you do to help? #hungerheroes

P.S. top picture from our anniversary shoot (part 1, part 2) – more pictures coming later today 🙂
