  1. I've just been thinking about writing a similar post, since I get asked about it a fair amount (especially now that we live entirely on my blogging income).

So fun to see what you're doing. And I've never heard of Makerly!

  2. Thanks for sharing this! Very helpful information šŸ™‚

  3. Thanks for the info! It's so helpful to know what other bloggers are doing to increase their views and become better. šŸ™‚

  4. These are things I've always wondered about, and something I want to get into doing, now that I've become more serious about blogging. This was extremely helpful and informative! Thank you!

  5. thanks so much for sharing! i hate that people are always so vague so I really appreciated this. Do you mind sharing what your monthly income is from blogging?

  6. Thank you for sharing this. I too was inspired by Alt and subsequent conversations to start sharing a monthly stats and income report on my blog. I just want to have a tiny part in making this industry more transparent. I learned a few new things from your post. For example, had no idea ShopSense had a widget! Installing that now!

  7. Wow, this is very insightful. Thank you for sharing your experience, thoughts on the different platforms and networks you have dealt with. The Markerly heat imaging is an eye opener!

  8. Hey girl! Love this post. Quick question for you.. at what point did you start to contact companies like pollinate media. Obviously you don't want to wait too long, but you don't want them to look at you as a joke at the same time.

    Thanks!!:)

  9. Thanks for posting this. I am interested in potentially making money off my blog sometime, but for right now I just do it because I enjoy it. Would love to see more alternatives/information for non-fashion related blogs as well.

  10. You are doing absolutely well with your blog and I see why you are getting a lot of offers/opps.

Am going to join a few of this and see if they have offers for my niche. šŸ˜›

  11. This was a very helpful post, and I have spent the morning taking every bit of this advice!

  12. I really appreciate that you're open about your numbers & techniques! I also don't like that people are so cagey about blogging as business. These are some great resources! Thank you!

  13. Somehow I'm just stumbling upon this, but I wanted to let you know that this was very well written!

  14. Thank you so much for sharing all of your insight! I am new to blogging and am trying to learn as much as I can along the way! I know the more I learn the more I will be hooked.

  15. Thank you for outlining the companies you work with. Helps to give me perspective as I convert my blog from a "blogspot" to a self-hosted site.

  16. A fellow blogger, http://www.fridaywereinlove.com/, forwarded me to this post. I am so grateful she did. When starting out it is so hard to know where to go. Thank you for all this wonderful information. I have a question. Do you have a network that works with social media sponsored posts as well? Rather than just blog posts? Just curious. Thank you again!

    1. Hi Tammy,

I use BlogHer for a few social media campaigns but don't accept most of the ones I get because they require 8 posts to facebook within the one month period which seems a little high to me. I am a part of their influencer programs and each social media platform I get campaigns for was approved individually before I started getting campaigns for that platform. A few other networks I work with for blog posts will also have social media only campaigns (mode media, collectively, and maybe one or two more).

      Hope that helps!

  17. I`ve been using shopsense for a while and when i finally hit 100 dollars, they suddenly locked my account without any notice. I sent them an email asking for details and they answered back that it was because of more than 6 month of inactivity. I insisted about it and I got this: "We reviewed your site and the traffic from your site, and we saw low conversion from your traffic. Your traffic did not qualify for our program at this time. Our apologies for the inconvenience." Seriously !! I was working hard on my blog to bring unique visitors, sharing my posts on social networks and such,,, but they locked my account when I hit 100 dollars. How convenient for them to cash money and lock accounts for "low conversion traffic".
What is your experience with shopsense? Do they really pay? Is it scam? or I am just very unlucky?

    1. Oh that is so frustrating! I've been paid by shopsense a couple of times now so I know they do pay. I've never heard of them kicking someone out and locking an account – but definitely keep trying to get in contact with them. I'd just explain you understand you no longer meet the requirements but you would like to have your payment processed before your account ins permanently locked because you have met the payout threshold. That is ridiculous.

  18. Thank you so much for this post! I am struggling a little with monetization at the moment. I have tried applying to RewardStyle, but have never received a response from them. Do you have any insight into how to get accepted to their program?

    1. Hi Hayley – I would definitely recommend checking out the updated version of this post (linked at the very top of this post) – as for rewardstyle, I'm not sure. I know its invite only but it can never hurt to keep shooting them emails (at least every quarter) with your updated stats. Have you tried shopsense?
