Holiday Game Night with Walgreens Holiday Guide

I put together this holiday game night spread as part of a sponsored collaboration with Walgreens through Collective Bias. Next time we have a game night though, you can bet I’ll be buying these products again, and they won’t be sponsored. All opinions are my own.

When church is cut two hours short due to severe weather, the best way to spend the rest of the afternoon is over games, good food, and fabulous friends. Yesterday the ice and snow combo got us home a few hours early with an afternoon ahead of us – thank goodness for near neighbors who don’t get sick of the two of us šŸ˜‰
We spent hours playing cards, listening to Christmas music, and enjoying some yummy food. Casey and Geoff introduced us to the game Euchre awhile back and I am addicted. The card game is played in partners and its probably a good thing it requires four players or else Ben would be roped into lots of cards on a regular basis. We also did quite a bit of snacking – who needs a full meal when you can snack all afternoon right?
I put together a little spread from Walgreen’s DeLish brand to keep everyone munching for a few hours. With a Walgreens 25 seconds away, I’m often there for toiletries or candy, but until this weekend I never thought of them for food. After polling the guests, here’s the verdict: The girls liked the pot stickers best but the boys preferred the bacon wrapped filet mignon bites (which I simply popped out of the package and into the oven). The chocolate covered cashews were a big hit, and I loved the Moose Tracks ice cream (although the waffle cone wasn’t bad either). The chips and salsa were a great addition to the spread, but didn’t really stand out ( although that didn’t stop us from eating every last chip). I put everything in our holiday dishes, brought out some sugar snap peas and it was possibly the easiest and yummiest snack spread we’ve had. We’ll be using the frozen appetizers again for holiday guests and you can bet more chocolate covered cashews are coming with us on our road trip back east for Christmas
This impromptu gathering is just one of many get togethers we’ll be having this season so I’m happy to know I can skip the 10 minute drive to the grocery store next time we need something. I’m trying their all-italian organic pasta next, I’ll let you know. You can check out the Walgreens holiday catalog for other entertaining and gift options.
p.s. not pictured is this adorable family – we love them, lots and lots and lots. and baby T makes for the very best game interruptions šŸ™‚
