Flying Away…

//  by Elisabeth McKnight//  16 Comments

I feel like I”m flying away – like the wind of everything I have to do is so strong I can’t stand up straight.

I have two weeks before I head to NYC for 10 days and in between now and then I have

  • 3 midterms to take
  • 2 midterm essays to write (by midnight tonight)
  • 2 fifteen plus papers to write
  • 3 five page papers to write
  • 40 business cards to design and get printed
  • 1 manual to edit

Oh and I just committed to the March health challenge with my mother –

  • cardio 3xs per week
  • 5 glasses of water per day (8 was just unrealistic, gotta ease my way into this)
  • something green in my tummy everyday
  • climbing 3xs per week
So while I’m so busy I’ll have lots of fun things for you  ($1000 giveaway tomorrow? Yeah, its happening)- but if I go MIA for a day or two I’ve just gotten my priorities straight (school over blogging) finally, thats all.
And through all of this I am continually reminding myself of Margaret Thatcher:

What is success? I think it is a mixture of having a flair for the thing that you are doing; knowing that it is not enough, that you have got to have hard work and a certain sense of purpose.

    Call me a feminist, but sometimes I wonder if this is what it means to be a successful woman:

    "There was danger at times that women might not be judged by the highest standards, but more leniently because of their sex. "She i s a remarkably good chemist–for a woman," you might hear a man say. It seemed to me essential, if the ablest young women scholars were to achieve the best work of which they were capable, that they should be held to the most rigorous standards. …To advance, a woman must do at least as good work as her male colleagues, usually better." -Virginia Gildersleeve, longtime Dean of Barnard College and the sole female US delegate to the 1945 UN Conference on International Organization
