First clothing purchase of 2017

When planning my outfits for Alt Summit last month I gave myself a small budget to pick up a few new items. I hadn’t purchased a lot since Adelaide was born and it’s still hit or miss how the rest of my closet fits.
A few days after Christmas, while visiting my in-laws in California, Ben and I snuck away for an hour after the kids had gone to sleep just to enjoy shopping at a real mall. I tried on a handful of bold, fun, statement tops that screamed “blogger conference” but I ended up coming home with this plaid button down and yet another striped top (which is so good I’ve worn it for 36 hours straight on more than one occasion).
And you know what? I wore it to Alt Summit (along with three other bloggers) and I’ve worn it every single week since. I get to feel put together because I’m wearing a button down but it’s soft and comfortable enough that it’s a lot like wearing a tee shirt. Today I wore it without a trace of makeup and I’ll dress it up with heels for date night this weekend.
A much better spending choice for me than that darling neon ruffled top another three bloggers were wearing at Alt.
I’ve really been trying to buy pieces I love on me as much as I do on the hanger …and ones that I’ll actually wear day in and day out with kids. And so I’m feeling pretty good about two of the three clothing pieces I’ve purchased in 2017.
(The one that has gotten significantly less wear will be on the blog next week, but it is the only one Lincoln said he liked, so there’s that).
P.S. The exact same shirt is only available in a handful of sizes (I’m wearing a 0 for reference and it isn’t super tight or fitted through the shoulder so it runs a little bit big). They have the same “boy shirt” available in a few different patterns
Awesome! could you pelase check the email from Beryl, dear? Thnak you so much!
