Exercise Goals and a Promo Code

I have never been one to like exercise (and my husband tells me I’m weird because of it?) – I prefer activities that keep me active. Most of college it was dance, now its mostly rock climbing. But, those alone won’t get me in the top shape that I’d love to be in.

I set some goals with my neighbor Carly, got a workout CD from Courtney,  and this week we’ve done cardio THREE TIMES! (and by cardio I mean the elliptical for 20 minutes – baby steps people). Just wanted to share some of our little goals:

  • cardio twice a week
  • climbing three times a week  (climb 12a by christmas)
  • drink LOTS of water
  • eat something green everyday
I know, there’s nothing about cutting out sugar or making balanced meals – but like I said…baby steps people.
How do you motivate yourself to be healthy?
Do you have a work out buddy?
What kind of goals do you set?
I’d love to hear what you guys do or any advice you have!

  1. What motivates me to be healthy? My health. I know that if I don't take care of myself as much as I can NOW, I could end up getting sicker and needing dialysis or a kidney transplant much sooner than I would otherwise. That's pretty good motivation!

I don't exercise with anyone else, I'm just one of those people who likes to walk along with her iPod and go into her own little world for however long.

My goal at the moment is to lose all the weight I gained while on all this medication, and then perhaps lose more too, but I'll think about that when I get there. šŸ™‚

  2. I feel like I'm the same way, but instead I like to play volleyball. I remember the motivation we used in high school was to be able to run and not have your legs touch, now I have no motivation. If I had motivation it would probably stem from wanting to look hott for my husband. Clearly I need to work on this, I'm a bad wife.

    Those are good goals though.

  3. I really want to try rock-climbing. It looks like so much fun.

My goals include writing down the calories of everything I eat during the day. I know many people have arguments against calorie-counting, but it's what works for me. I also try to get tiny bits of extra exercise whenever I can (such as taking stairs instead of escalators).

  4. i need to drink more water… and i agree. i hate working out. i'd rather go for along long walk sand explore, or play tennis. although i have started to love yoga but still can only do 30 min videos before i get antsy

  5. You and Car will be great at that! (Also, I'm stoked about our Halloween dinner. Seriously.)

Can't wait to see you soon šŸ™‚

  6. I love rock-climbing and I would love to start doing it again! That looks like so much fun!

  7. Find a water bottle that you love. You're likely to drink out of it more often than not šŸ™‚
