Elephant and Piggie Party: When Lincoln tries to wait

We love Elephant & Piggie at our house, and are so excited to be partnering with Disney-Hyperion on a sponsored post to celebrate 10 years of the series!

I was first introduced to Mo Willem’s, “Elephant and Piggie” by a friend with kids a few years older than my own and was delighted by how fun they are! Have you read them before? The dynamic between Elephant and Piggie is entertaining and the conversational style is unique from a lot of the kids books we have.

In May they’re celebrating 10 years of Elephant and Piggie and because I’ll take any excuse for baked goods and decorations, we had lots of fun celebrating the milestone + characters (from the comfort of our own kitchen).

Lincoln practiced all the waiting skills he could muster for the half an hour after everything was ready and before Adelaide woke up from her nap but it was worth the wait. We had treats, opened a few new Elephant and Piggie books (check out our favorites below) for presents, and let Adelaide crawl around while Lincoln colored and pretended to do worksheets šŸ˜›

The cutest part, other than the little Elephant and Piggie lanterns,  had to have been Lincoln’s insistence that Adelaide get some cupcake too. For as often as he takes toys straight out of her hands, he is often awfully concerned that she get to participate in whatever we are doing.

A few of our favorite Elephant and Piggie books to check out:

  • The Thank You Book
  • I Will Take a Nap
  • Waiting is not Easy
  • Should I share my Ice Cream?
  • Can I Play, too?
  • I am Going
  • Today I Will Fly
  • A New Friend is So Fun
  • I Broke My Trunk
  • The Good for Nothing Button

The Good for Nothing Button, the newest book Disney sent along for the party pokes at the power of imaginative play with a hilarious debate about a button that does nothing. But it makes some people happy. Happy is something! It makes some people mad. Mad is something! Anyway, if you have little ones you’ll just have to read it šŸ™‚

Here are a million more pictures but also, don’t miss the giveaway on instagram at the beginning of next week!
