Down by the banks
We drove out to this bit of woods this week and sipped a milkshake while reminiscing about the pre-baby days (well, the pre-ohio days really) when we spent our weekends in the mountains rock climbing and our evenings at the climbing gym between homework assignments. Now we slip in our family dates in the hour between when Ben gets home and Lincoln goes to sleep and dream about living near something with more of an incline than an ant hill.
But I did commit to a family camping trip for Father’s Day, so that’s something.
^Linc’s not making an appearance because sometimes its just not worth getting him out of the carseat (he’s fine when he’s in and he’s fine when he’s out…but the getting in and out causes a bit of an uproar)
^I spy with my little eye…. š
^I found a whole website dedicated to thermos cooking and now I’m excited to try oatmeal + more in these on our camping trip
^I thought I’d go for a little swim…
^His, mine, and baby’s š —
And I usually think of thermoses as great for hot chocolate (probably because after our first Valentine’s day Ben packed his huge Stanley thermos full of hot chocolate and took me up to the canyon to look at the stars), but with these HOT HOT HOT temperatures this week, I took Stanley up on their 22 hour of cold promise and tried milkshakes (well, chocolate peanut butter protein shakes that might as well be milkshakes). I was worried they wouldn’t keep their creamy half frozen consistency but they were great! These two additional sizes (we already have the huge thermos) were a fun early Father’s Day present for Ben to go along with my camping promise š
Thanks to Stanley for sponsoring this post – I love working with brands we’ve used and loved for years. You can head here to check out their selection of products (father’s day anyone?)
my shirt: J.Crew via thredUP (love this one too)
tee: H&M (I shrunk Ben’s men’s v-neck awhile back)
pants: Old Navy
flip flops: Clarks
sunglasses: J.Crew outlet
bag: Lilly and Jade
I totally understand what you mean about the "ant hills' of Ohio. I am originally from Georgia and there are actually mountains there that you can hike. I miss it, but my husband and I do an annual camping trip each summer! can't wait to see your photos from that trip!
Aw! This seems like such a sweet day! š
That Lily & Jade bag! Ahhh it's all I want š do you love it? Would you recommend another?
I started using thermoses this year to keep water for our baby's bottles warm while we're on the go, and I thought, "why did I not think of this sooner with our first baby?!"
