Dear Kindergarten Crush,
I’m sorry I was a little high maintenance, but I could NOT be the only girl at a birthday party. Thanks for inviting Ellery. And I loved sharing those fajitas at Hard Rock Cafe, and our matching t-ball uniforms. Thanks for keeping my mom busy by talking football on the way to games; I just liked the cheerleaders.
Dear Third Grade,
After my brother screamed your name on the playground I simply couldn’t like you anymore. It might have worked out otherwise, the two of us being in JNN together and everything.
Dear Fifth Grade,
If only she hadn’t cried when she realized I’d be at dances with you six months before her. Best friends always trump boys. Especially in the fifth grade.
Dear Sixth Grade,
Dear Tenth Grade,
We had chemistry together. Literally. If only you’d asked me to that dance first, but alas, those hushed conversations about God in study hall will have to suffice.
Dear Eleventh Grade,
It all started on the soccer field But for the introduction to Jack Bauer, my first attempt at nordic skiing, and the thought provoking conversations, I will ever be grateful.
Dear High School,
I could never tell if you were staring at me in math class. It must have been those sunflower sugar cookies. Best friends make the best kind of boyfriends. And its even better when they can go back to best friends, almost.
Dear Freshman Year,
It might have just been the swing dancing, but I could have danced with you for hours. I paid for it dearly the next year, but that month was exactly what I needed.
Dear Sophomore Year,
You made it rather difficult to pay attention in class. I can’t believe you bought my line about passwords telling you so much about a person and gave me yours. One date was all I got, if only you hadn’t been my T.A.
Dear Thanksgiving,Thanks for saving my life; apparently I’m not very good at driving in the snow. There is no need to apologize for holding someone’s hand just because we decided it wouldn’t work. Turns out, I had to start dating my husband the next week.

I found this cute little idea of letters to old crushes on a blog awhile back and have been wanting to do it. I couldn’t write about all of them – 20 years left me with a lot of crushes, but this post was so fun to do! As obvious as I think some of these are (except for #1 – he’s on the far right of that pictures 🙂 , I’ll refrain from adding pictures to this post 😛 Instead I have pictures of me at lots of these ages.
linking up with elises pieces – Happy Thursday 🙂
