Weekends are for date nights around here (because despite what they say, even with no kids, every night is not actually date night). The thing about weekend date nights is when we have all Saturday together, the last thing I want to do is spend an hour of two of that in the kitchen putting together a healthy meal. When I heard about the opportunity to try Lean Cuisine’s new Honestly Good meals, I knew it would be the perfect fit.
This Saturday we spent the afternoon playing frisbee in the park and reading at the pool, and it was great to come home and put together dinner in a whole five minutes. With such beautiful weather, I set up a little dinner spread out on the porch and we ate at the sun went down behind the trees before coming in and enjoying a few episodes of our favorite show. Dinner, a movie, and popcorn for all less than $10, I’d say it was a successful date night. #eathonestly
If you were wondering, we tried the chicken and the salmon options and while you can read more about it here, we thought the salmon was good and liked the seasoning of the chicken more. We loved that they are made with all natural ingredients and at less than 400 calories each, they are a healthy and light dinner option. These frozen meals something I think we’ll keep on hand for nights when we want a yummy and healthy meal at home together that we don’t have to cook.
Disclaimer: This is the first time Ben and I ate a frozen meal together so we don’t have much to compare it to, but it definitely exceeded our expectations. And if you’re into this kind of thing and love a good deal, you can take a dollar off using this coupon (which puts dinner for two under $5).
^For date night we drink our cranberry lemonade out of thin stemmed glasses 🙂
^^we liked the salmon 🙂
^^steamy chicken, pasta, and veggies (and I’m proud of this steam photo, just saying)
^^this picture almost resulted in a broken camera. it is time to get a new tripod.
^^the view from our porch. We love this place, and date nights 🙂
