With all the crazy of the past month I haven’t been so good at documenting the little time I’ve gotten to spend with Ben but we’ve been pretty good at date night lately. I’ve had a goal of eating at only local restaurants (no chains) and while we haven’t been perfect, we’ve discovered a few new favorites.
Last Friday we had Thai for the first time since moving to Ohio and we loved Zab Thai Kitchen with its modern flair and classic options. We started with spring rolls (which Ben usually doesn’t like and he loved them) and followed them with our standard Red Curry and Pad Thai. We’ve ordered the same thing at Thai restaurants for over two years – its probably time to start branching out.
Contrary to our usual Thai dining practices, we ordered dessert! This place had a few traditional dessert options along with an assortment of macarons. Macarons at a Thai restaurant you ask? I was skeptical at first too, but Ben’s never had one, and they were only $1.25 so we took the chance. They’re certainly no Lauderee macarons but I loved the raspberry rose water combination.
^^My Pad Thai had the perfect amount of spice. Usually I end up wishing I’d told them to go spicier.
I always get chicken satay with peanut sauce when I get Thai. It's just an appetizer usually but you can order a double plate and have it as a main course. Even better, at my birthday dinner the place my friends took me too offered a sampler plate and you could get three or four appetizers, so I got chicken satay and got to try a couple others too! –emily
great photos! looks like an amazing time.

My mouth is watering!
We have the same rule for our eating out adventures – no chains, and nothing we could find anywhere else! I feel like it's added so much to our dining experiences. And I need to try red curry but if you can find a place with pineapple curry, you should definitely try it out. Also that blue is a great color on you!

We always try to do the same thing when we eat out: no chains! We love it. Sounds like y'all do too! I need to try this Red Curry but if you haven't tried Pineapple Curry, it is a must! Btw that blue is a great color on you!
