This is a sponsored post about Stop & Shop and the Arbor Day Foundation (but the love of Dove deodorant + great causes is all my own).
How was your weekend? Did you do anything to celebrate Arbor Day on Friday?
As a busy family with two toddlers, I am not the best at making time for things that matter outside of our family (like volunteering, getting involved in our community, serving people in our town) but it is important to me that we develop a family culture of caring for those around us. Some of my favorite memories growing up were serving together as a family in Tokyo and later on in New Hampshire and I’m grateful my mom prioritized teaching us about looking outward + helping others.
For this grocery trip I left the toddlers at home but I love the Roots for a Brighter Future program because it is an EASY way for you to give back if your life is a bit crazy night now. Right now, if you spend $15 on participating Unilever products, you’ll get $5 back and Stop & Shop will plant one tree. Check out the Arbor Day video for more details!
All day on Saturday, at select Ahold stores, they were handing out individual trees for families to take home and plant (in addition to talking about the in-store promotion). Have you ever planted anything with your kids? Such a great way to celebrate Arbor Day (as long as you are better than I am at keeping things alive :P).
I grabbed a few of my favorite Dove deodorants (the Dove Advanced Care — with the cucumber on it :), some Vaseline, and another thing of lotion.
For reference, the brands that count toward the promotion:
- Seventh Generation
So, go stock up on products you already love and plant a tree! Another easy way to spread the love, go share the video on facebook by clicking here. For reach time the video is shared, Ahold (Stop & Shop) will donate $1 which means 1 tree planted!
Now, tell me. How do you get involved with your kids? Did you do anything to celebrate Earth Day or Arbor Day? Leave your ideas in the comments!
