The morning after this fun night, Casey and I headed to an apple orchard. Yes, that was almost two months ago but somehow these pictures got overlooked.
I haven’t picked apples in years, but every year back in NH my family makes quarts on quarts of apple sauce (this last season they made 52 jars!). The rows of trees took me back to the vineyard we lived on in Italy as a family. The rows of olive trees were our playground and if we were hungry, we might sneak a grape from the vine. It was years ago, and just for one fall, but that season tucked into the hills of Umbria turned my family into friends, and for that I’ll always be grateful.
