An Evening at the Pool

My high school BFF is road tripping cross country and the biggest perk of moving to Findlay so far is that we were (kind of?) on the way 🙂 We spent the day earlier this week meandering downtown, trying new little restaurants, and helping me appreciate this new town (or at least having company in it). When Ben got back from work we took some warm bruschetta and frozen starburst treats to the pool to enjoy the last bit of sun before making dinner and savoring our last few hours together. I’m planning on more trip to see her before I become a mother…but its crazy to think that the next time I see some people, we’ll be a family of three.

^bruschetta recipe from here (we used basil this time instead of mint) made on this bread recipe (leftovers from dinner the night before — bruschetta is my go-to for day old homemade bread)

^we might have picked up equally ridiculous shades that afternoon too (along with matching shirts ..although we picked different ones to wear to the pool) … things to remember each other by, right?

^we tried the new STARBURSTâ„¢ Brand Sorbet Bars for the first time (although I didn’t let them sit in the freezer long enough after our trip to the grocery store for them to refreeze completely so they were quite soft)… and they taste just like a pink starburst..in a popsicle/sorbet form (they’re incredibly sweet so I totally didn’t believe it when I read they were only 70 calories). Bonus: the packaging looks just like starburst candy so they’re super easy to spot in store 😉
Because I love you (well, really because they mailed me some extra coupons), I’m giving away free boxes of these guys to two lucky people who comment on this post. No need to say anything specific – feel free to tell me where you’d love to enjoy a starburst sorbet bar 🙂
^sharing our summery treat — but really guys, if you love pink starbursts…these are like the enlarged summer poolside versions!
^I may love swimming, but this guy is the swimmer of the family

^these shoes were $10

^my selfie for the week 🙂
There is something so comforting about someone who has known you for so long – here’s to old friends who stay good friends 🙂

If you leave a comment below, I’ll pick two lucky readers and send you a box (well, a coupon for a free box) of these sorbet bars!

On me:
top: c/o Aeropostale (I got a large so it would be loose)
sunglasses: c/o Aeropostale
swim: Lucky Brand
denim: Lucky Brand (we’ll see how long I last before buying maternity jeans)
shoes: c/o Aeropostale (only $10 in store and I can’t find them online, but I also picked up these)
bow: Forever21

kate:
shirt: c/o Aeropostale (men’s section and its incredibly comfortable — I got the same one(not pictured) in an XS and it fits like a regular women’s small)
sunglasses: c/o Aeropostale

p.s. if you pick up anything online or in stores from Aero use the code ‘thirty’ for 30% off one item – I just told the store clerk I wanted to use the discount without any coupon and it made my polkadot shoes only $13 🙂

  1. Pink starbursts are the best! I'd like to enjoy one with the Mr, on a Saturday afternoon by the pool. We've yet to have a Saturday that relaxing yet this summer, and its almost over.

  2. I want to enjoy the sorbet next to my husband laying on our grass talking. I'm so glad they chose pink–they're the best flavor!
