Side note: post written a few weeks ago/pictures from 2 weeks after Lincoln was born… so Linc’s sleep schedules are infinitely better! Last night he slept for six hours straight!
People were not exaggerating when they said going anywhere with a newborn is a huge outing. Just getting Linc into the car, with the diaper bag packed and me in something other than pajamas feels like it deserves a reward. That said, I feel so much better when we get a bit of fresh (and by fresh I mean frigid at this point) air.
People were also not exaggerating when they talked about newborn sleep schedules. This morning I found myself telling my in-laws that Linc had a great night, which he did. And then I started calculating how much sleep I got between the hours of 10 and 6 and when it totaled less than four, I realized we’ve reached a new level of crazy around here (and we wouldn’t have it any other way…except maybe a way that involves a bit more sleep).
With the constant needs of this cute little one, we can’t afford to be anything other than perfectly healthy and the freezing temps and lack of sleep are definitely not helping. Last week I picked up a bottle of Ester-C by the pharmacy at Walmart (its currently on rollback) in attempts to boost our immune systems and keep the fragile balance of life these days.
^my favorite little travel companion (he may hate being put in his carseat, but he loves car rides and he calms right now once the straps are secured and the car has started).
^even on the days we don’t leave the house, I feel like we’re always on the go — no rest for the weary these days 🙂
