Mondays come too soon. But they are a little less bad when the teething baby sleeps through the night and you begin your morning chatting with friends at the gym (and working out, at least a little). And there are only 119 days left until we meet this little girl who insists on growing bigger by the day.
I’m working at being more intentional lately and one little change this week is I cleaned off a blackboard I used as part of our Christmas decor (I thought I was so clever with our “for unto us a child is born” sign sitting on the mantel before we had announced my pregnancy) and listed goals. It has three goals for my day around the house, three goals for work, and in theory it would also have three family goals in the space I left on the bottom, but Ben was asleep by 7:45 last night so we didn’t get to setting those. I’m hoping that just by seeing them each time I walk into the kitchen they’ll be more likely to happen.
The real goal is to embrace these next few months instead of continuously counting down to something. Do you get caught in that rut – always looking forward to something so much that you don’t feel a need to live in the moment? There is enough excitement between visits and trips that I could put “living” on hold until this baby gets here. But, I’m realizing these next four months are just as long as the ones after that and I should embrace them instead of hurrying them on. We’ll see how this goes.

denim: forever21 maternity (they used to make maternity?) via thredUP
shoes: suede here and leather here (I own these flats in four colors – they’re awesome)
trench: old – but I’m looking at this one for our spring trip (that color though!)
braid: hair extensions via IrresistableMe (I’m still learning how to braid with these ..but I’m loving them for an easy way to style day 5 hair…along with plenty of dry shampoo, of course 😉
