Our Easter
Did you have a great Easter? We enjoyed a wonderful day with fabulous friends here in Cincinnati (they sure do make being 900 miles away from family better 🙂
I started the morning just after 7 to roll out the dough for a brunch roll. While I let it rise a second time, I spent some quiet time in the New Testament while the birds chirped outside the window. It was the perfect start to a holy day.
Later in the morning we enjoyed brunch at our friend’s new home and everything was so darling! I hadn’t been over since they’d decorated and everything was right out of a magazine. It made me so excited to own our own space at some point. But really, the chandelier, the dark wood floors, the white built-ins… it was all a dream.
^^Gorgeous tulips on the food table
^^little aria smelling the flowers 🙂
After brunch we headed straight to church. My favorite thing about the Easter Sunday is always the music and with all the seriously talented people in our current congregation, listening to them sing praises was so uplifting.
After church we had a lazy evening around the apartment before a night of games with more dear friends (we’re glad they let us live at their apartments a few evenings a week – although they make the prospect of moving in a month or two far less appealing).
We skipped out on Easter baskets this year but kept the tradition my family had growing up of each person getting their own box of sugar cereal (a little less exciting when you keep some on hand during the rest of the year). Maybe next year I’ll manage to have Easter outfits and Easter baskets 🙂
